Fashion Design Tool

A decline in sales lead to a discovery project in which I reviewed the CX route to a specific product alongside direct comparisons – the results headed towards the creation of a dedicated landing page.

A simple, but incredibly competitive product aimed at assisting the design process within the fashion industry – specifically in crafting bespoke garments. A generic PDP, ‘standard’ photography and a complicated route to item lead to a flat line in sales.

I took on the project and strived towards designing a unique customer experience which not only delivered key points visually, an informative video, direct comparison table and a unique promotion. I liaised with a industrial product photographer to capture 4 powerful images to highlight key points; shape, material, functions and durability. Utilising these images I created a bold landing page, precisely structured to encourage the customer to scroll and reach the comparison table.

Mannequin Landing Page

With an ever increasing range of mannequins a dramatic change in design was implemented, creating an atmosphere that prevailed quality.

To achieve this I designed a simple grid layout, to account for multiple devices & responsive design, and a restricted colour palette – all of which would help in make the quality of products and photography stand out.

These goals set the tone and allowed me to edit and compose a dramatic layout within photoshop. I used a selection of paths & masked to layer several products, adjustment layers and overlays creating a realistic composition. The restricted colour palette also allowed any highlight & colour to ‘pop’ with vibrancy.

Responsive design and development was at the heart of this project, ensuring that simple tasks like image optimisation and structure schema were on point so that the standard of the page was high both interns of SEO and graphics.

Display Sense

Display sense are a company with 30+ years of retail heritage, supplying shop fittings and fixtures to small to medium business across the United Kingdom, Ireland and USA.

Originally, they were a catalogue first company which led towards a very small and basic website site to showcase their product range – I was tasked with transforming the look and feel of the company.

My initial goal was to ensure the their entire image database was complete with consistency in terms of: quality, style and variation.
Once this was complete I progressed to ensuring that the branding was consistently represented across a variety of mediums – print and digital.

With these solid foundations set in place I was then able to generate a ‘new’ look and feel to the companies website with four main goals to achieve: create an encapsulating visual experience, ensure the unique selling points were accessible, make an efficient user journey and enhance the websites SEO capabilities.

Alongside the inspiring imagery, I decided to propose a drastically reduce navigation menu. The concept here was to place less emphasis on the menu, which was previously a pure SEO driven beast, and centre the users focus on key ranges – getting the customer to larger product ranges quicker.

I have then suggested advertising key ranges within the menu using images again – this breaks the visual flow on the menu creating interest and intrigue.
